Klein Holzhausen is a residential area in the Schönberg district of the Hanseatic town of Seehausen (Altmark) in the Stendal district in Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The Marschhufendorf Klein Holzhausen is 3½ kilometers northeast of Seehausen in the northwest of the Altmark in the Middle Elbe Biosphere Reserve . The south of the village is drained by the Klein Holzhausen Flurgraben, which flows into the Landwehrgraben Seehausen in the west. Neighboring towns are Hof zur Hufe in the north-west, Ostorf and Oberkamps in the north, Schüring in the north-east, Schönberg am Deich in the east, Herzfelde and Neuhof in the south and Nienfelde in the west.

history

Klein Holzhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1319, when Waldemar , Margrave of the Mark Brandenburg region , donated properties in Holtzhausen to the Amelungsborn monastery. In the document, the court of the margrave (the castle) is named curia Aulosen , to which 17 villages belonged, including the village of Holtzhausen .

Further mentions are 1345 obernholczhusen , 1346 in Holthusen , 1436 in the village of Holthusen ; 1472 In the village of Holtzhausenn Bey Hertzfelde , 1608 Lutkeholthüsen , 1687 Lütken Holthusen. In 1804 the village of Klein Holzhausen with the Freihof is called the Oehre , the Hof zur Hufe .

In 1931, in addition to the village itself, the Klein Holzhausen community included the Klein Wegenitz estate, the Groß Wegenitz residential areas, the Neuhof am Damm estate, as well as Oberkamps and Unterkamps .

Incorporations

On September 30, 1928, the uninhabited manor district of Rühstedter Werder (Rühstedt) was merged with the rural community of Klein Holzhausen.

On April 1, 1940, the communities of Herzfelde and Klein Holzhausen were merged without their districts Oberkamps and Unterkamps up to and including the irrigation with the Rühstedter Wiesen and the districts of Groß Wegenitz and Klein Wegenitz (they came to Beuster ) and the southern part of the municipality of Ostorf , the courtyards Falke ( Hof zur Hufe ), Herper and Neubauer as well as from the communities Falkenberg and Schönberg the enclaves directly on the Elbe to a community with the name Herzfelde. At that time all communities were in the Osterburg district .

With the incorporation of Herzfelde into the community of Schönberg on July 1, 1950, the district of Klein Holzhausen became part of Schönberg. Since Schönberg was incorporated into the Hanseatic city of Seehausen (Altmark) on September 1, 2010, there is only the Klein Holzhausen residential area.
