Elger Esser

Elger Esser (born May 11, 1967 in Stuttgart ) is a German artist . His main medium is photography . He is considered a representative of the Düsseldorf Photo School .

Life

Esser spent childhood and youth in Rome (1969–1986); After graduating from the German school there and training as a photographer , he studied photography from 1991 to 1997 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy with Professor Bernd Becher . From 1996 he was a master student and in 1997 received the academy letter of the art academy.

As a photo artist, Elger Esser has been represented at numerous exhibitions in national and international museums and galleries since the mid-1990s. From 2006 to 2009 he was a professor at the State University for Design in Karlsruhe in the media art department . Esser lives and works in Düsseldorf.
