Elias Hütter

Elias Hütter (born July 23, 1774 in Vienna , † March 25, 1865 there ) was an Austrian sculptor , sculptor and porcelain modeler .

Life

Hütter was the son of the caretaker of the Vienna porcelain factory at the time . In 1788 he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 1789 he became a student of the sculptor and porcelain modeler Anton Grassi . In 1804 Hütter is mentioned as a bossier , after Grassi's death he was promoted to model master. In 1857 Elias Hütter was the last master of the Viennese porcelain factory to leave and retired . His specialty were bisque busts , which he made for members of the imperial family and public figures. A classical bust of Archduke Charles was created as early as 1802 , and five years later he made four more busts of other archdukes . He was so successful that he continued to receive orders from the Viennese court for the next few decades. The portrait style of Elias Hütter was realistic .
