Elin Ingrid Johanna Rubensson (born May 11, 1993 in Ystad ) is a Swedish football player . The offensive player, who is used both as a midfielder and an attacker, made her debut for the Swedish national team in 2012 .

Career

societies

Rubensson started playing football at Marieholms IS . From 2010 she played for the women's team of Malmö FF (from 2014 FC Rosengård) in Damallsvenskan , with which she was champion in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014 and 2012 Supercup winner. She also took part in the UEFA Women's Champions League four times with the team , with the best result being reaching the quarter-finals in 2011/12 and 2012/13 .

At the beginning of 2015, she moved to Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC , but could not build on the successes with her previous team with the club. After three midfield positions, however , the team took second place in the 2018 season , qualifying the team for the 2019/20 UEFA Women's Champions League . But here it was already over in the sixteenth finals. After a 1: 2 home defeat, in which they scored the goal for their team, against FC Bayern Munich , they did win 1-0 in Munich, but the away goals rule spoke against the Swedes.

On May 1, 2019, she won the cup with Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC, scoring the 2-1 winner from a penalty in the first minute of stoppage time .

National teams

For the Swedish U-17 team, she scored 24 goals in 22 games. She managed the same number for the U-19 team, with which she won the 2012 U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2012 , where she was elected top scorer with five goals and a “Golden Player” by UEFA .

On October 23, 2012, she made her debut in the first international match under Pia Sundhage in the national team. But she was not nominated for the EM 2013 in her home country.

In May 2015 she was nominated for the 2015 World Cup. She was used in the four games, but was eliminated with her team in the round of 16 against Germany .

In 2016 she took part with the national team at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was used in all six games and won the silver medal. At the EM 2017 , however, it was only used in two group games.

On June 7, 2018, Rubenson, who had scored 48 goals for the national teams, scored her first goal for the national team. As part of qualifying for the 2019 World Cup , her first international goal scored the intermittent 2-0 in a 4-0 win against Croatia . She had won the Algarve Cup with the team three months earlier .

On May 16, she was also nominated for the World Cup . At the World Cup she was used in five games and was each in the starting line-up, but was substituted four times. In the second group game against Thailand , she played for the entire season and scored the 5-1 final score with a penalty in the sixth minute of stoppage time. As group runner-up they reached the knockout round, where they won 1-0 against Canada in the round of 16 . In the quarter-finals, after 24 years, the Swedes again won a competitive game against the German team and qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games. In the semi-finals, they were defeated by European champions Netherlands after extra time. Without her, her teammates then won the game for third place against England .
