The final round of the 15th U-19 European Women's Football Championship was held in Turkey from July 2 to 14, 2012 . Eight teams competed against each other first in a group stage in two groups and then in the knockout system . Players born on January 1, 1993 or later were eligible to play. The game was played in the spa town of Antalya . The Swedish team won the title.

qualification

Turkey was automatically qualified to host. The remaining 43 registered national teams were divided into ten groups of four teams each. Germany, France and England received a wild card for the second qualifying round as the teams top three in the UEFA rankings. The group winners and runners-up automatically reached the second qualifying round. In addition there was the best third party. To determine the best third party in the group, however, only the respective results against the group winners and runners-up were used. The first qualifying round was held in autumn 2011. The 21 remaining teams plus Germany, France and England were divided into six groups of four teams each in the second qualifying round. The six group winners and the best runner-up in the group qualified for the final tournament in Turkey. The tournaments of the second qualifying round were held in spring 2012. Defending champion Germany failed in the second qualifying round against later European champions Sweden.

mode

At the final round, the eight teams formed two groups of four teams each. In the group stage, each team within the group played once against each other. There were three points for a win and one point for a draw. After the preliminary round matches, the group winners and runners-up qualified for the semi-finals.

If several teams had equal points in the group matches, the positions were initially determined based on the larger number of points from the direct encounters . If this was the same, first the goal difference and then the number of goals scored in the direct matches were compared. This was decisive for the placements in Group B. If two or more teams had still been tied, the next criteria would have been the goal difference from all games and then the total number of goals scored. The last criterion was the fair play rating .

From the semi-finals onwards, the tournament was continued in the knockout system . Games that draw ended after regular time were to ten minutes twice extended . If no winner had been found after extra time, the decision would have been sought on penalties . This case did not occur. The regular playing time for all games was 45 minutes twice.

Preliminary round

The draw for the final round took place on April 24, 2012 in Antalya.
