The FC Rosengård is a Swedish women's football club from Malmö and since 2011 Swedish champions in women's football. The club, which split off in 2007 as the former women's football division of Malmö FF , ran until December 2013 as Lait de Beauté Football Club Malmö , mostly abbreviated to LdB FC Malmö or LdB FC .

history

On September 7, 1970, a women's football department was set up at Malmö FF after advertisements in the Swedish newspaper Arbetet had looked for female players. From then on, it took part in competitions under the name Malmö FF Dam . The first two seasons were played in the Arbetets damfotbollsserie Västra . From 1973 the club played mainly in Division 2 Södra , at that time the second highest division. In 1980, the team became second division champions in their season and made it to the double-track first division.

In the early years, Malmö FF Dam always occupied midfield. In 1986 the team finished second in the southern season and thus qualified for the play-off games. There they advanced to the final, where the two-time champions Sunnanå SK was defeated and the club's first championship title was celebrated. After a third place in the southern season the following year, MFF Dam qualified for the single-track Damallsvenskan introduced in 1988 .

In the first year of the single-track league, the club was third in the table and failed in the semi-finals of the play-off games with 0: 4 and 1: 5 defeats clearly to Jitex BK . A year later, as second in the table, they made it to the finals, again Jitex BK proved to be too strong and they had to be content with the runner-up title. In 1990 the league was won and in the final two wins against Öxabäck IF and thus the club's second championship title. In addition, the Svenska Cupen was won by a 3-0 win over Öxabäck. In 1991 Malmö FF Dam was able to celebrate the championship. The league was so dominated that at the end of the season, the table runner-up Djurgården Damfotboll was nine points behind the team from Malmö. In the championship final, the team prevailed against Gideonsbergs IF and Jitex BK. After the championship finals were abolished in 1993, the championship was won twice in a row.

In the following years, the MFF team always took top places, but could not jump out another championship title. 1997 succeeded by a 2-1 final win against Sunnanå SK, the second cup victory in the club's history. In 2003 the club moved into the cup final again, but this time the final was lost. After golden goal could Umeå IK prevail.

After Malmö FF Dam ran into financial problems, the naming rights were sold in early 2007. The rights for eight years were given to the Swedish cosmetics company Hardford AB for 25.5 million kroner and on April 11, 2007 the club adopted the name Lait de Beauté Football Club , which was based on one of the company's most important product lines.

Under the new name, the team settled directly among the top three teams in the Swedish championship , winning the championship title in the 2010 and 2011 seasons. After the worse goal difference had decided the championship fight in favor of tied competitor Tyresö FF in the following year , the team dominated the title fight again in the 2013 season and distanced runner-up Tyresö FF by seven points.

In December 2013, as part of a merger, the club announced the name change to FC Rosengård, the previously less successful, fourth-rate men's club, which also has a lower-class women's team, merged with the new FC Rosengård to form an alliance club and expanded its own name to FC Rosengård 1917 , whereby the independence of the two clubs is formally preserved. Since then, both clubs have had a joint website.

In July 2014, the club signed the Brazilian Marta as a new striker.
