Life
Effenberger came to Salzburg in 1945, where she worked as an editor for Igonta-Verlag and was involved in the conference of Austrian authors and composers in Sankt Veit , Carinthia . There she met Christine Lavant and Michael Guttenbrunner , whom she subsequently invited to the annual Hohensalzburg Forum . She worked at the Salzburg State Theater under the management of Hellmuth Matiasek and was then dramaturge at the Braunschweig State Theater .
After her return to Salzburg, she set up the women's radio in the Salzburg regional studio of the ORF . From 1972 to 1978 Effenberg was the cultural editor of the Salzburger Nachrichten . The acquaintance with the young Thomas Bernhard dates from this time, although despite the friendly atmosphere at the time, she strongly criticized him both as an actor and as a writer.
