Tyler Nathan Blackett (born April 2, 1994 in Manchester ) is an English football player . The defender is under contract with Nottingham Forest .

Career

He made his Premier League debut on August 16, 2014 in the home game against Swansea City . He also plays for the England U-19 national team.

On February 26, 2015, Blackett extended his contract to June 30, 2017 with an option for an additional year. In August 2015, Blackett was loaned out to Celtic Glasgow for the entire 2015-16 season . He made his debut for Celtic on Matchday 7 in a 2-1 away defeat against FC Aberdeen when he was in the starting line-up. With Celtic Blackett won the Scottish Championship , but he was only used three times in the league.

In August 2016 he moved to the second division FC Reading , where he received a four-year contract. There he was a regular player and played 34 times in the EFL Championship in his first season . At the end of the season he reached the playoffs with Reading, but could not manage to move up to the Premier League, as they lost in the final on penalties against Huddersfield Town . The following season he was back in full defense . This remained the case in 2018/19 . In the 2019/20 season he got fewer appearances.

He moved to Nottingham Forest , a league competitor from Reading, on a free transfer in August 2020 .
