Elisabeth Grundmann (born April 11, 1941 in Osnabrück ; † January 20, 2013 in Hamburg ) was a German Hispanic , adult educator and migration researcher .

Life

Grundmann studied Romance / Hispanic Studies , History and Education at the Universities of Heidelberg , Berlin , Aix-en-Provence and Kiel with a master’s degree in 1966. From 1967 to 1970 she organized for the German Adult Education Association as a research assistant at the Instituto Centroamericano de Extension de la Cultura (ICECU) in Costa Rica the development and implementation of literacy programs for the rural population of Central America . As a reviewer, she was also involved in various development projects in Latin America funded by the Federal Republic in the following years ; She was entrusted with the work area migration research in a special research area Latin America at the University of Hamburg . From 1977 to 1989 she worked as a foreigner consultant in the authority for schools, youth and vocational training in Hamburg, where in the first few years she led a project financed by the federal government for the further training of foreign workers. Between 1983 and 1986 she worked as a research assistant at the Technical University of Hamburg seconded to the supervision of the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs to take subsidized neighborhood project for integrating foreign women. After working as a speaker for the Green Women’s parliamentary group in 1990/91 in the Hamburg parliament, she began studying urban design and planning at the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg, which she received in 1997 with a Dipl.-Ing. completed. In the following years she worked as a freelancer in the field of local economics in urban development.

Grundmann was married to the historian Claus-Dieter Krohn .
