Elisabeth Höbarth

Elisabeth Höbarth (born March 11, 1923 in Vienna ; † February 16, 2007 in Naters , Switzerland ) was an Austrian film, television and theater actress .

Live and act

Höbarth attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar and initially played with a traveling troupe in Moravia. After the war ended in 1945, director Raoul Aslan engaged her at the Vienna Burgtheater , where she was part of the ensemble until 1963. Höbarth was also on stage at the Hamburger Kammerspiele , in Mannheim and at the Zürcher Schauspielhaus . She also made guest appearances at the Südwestdeutscher Rundfunk and the Bregenz Festival .

Her most important roles include the Sittah in Nathan the Wise , Esther in The Jewess of Toledo , the Buhlschaft in Jedermann and Elisabeth in Don Karlos . In addition to her theater work, she was also active as a film actress.

Höbarth was married to the violinist and conductor Willi Boskovsky . She last lived in the Swiss municipality of Naters in the canton of Valais. On February 26, 2007 she was buried in the Vienna Central Cemetery (group 33 G, number 78) in her husband's grave of honor .
