Elisabeth Reisinger (born August 2, 1996 ) is an Austrian ski racer . She currently belongs to the B-team of the Austrian Ski Association and mainly starts in the fast downhill and super-G disciplines .

biography

Elisabeth Reisinger comes from Peilstein in the Mühlviertel and starts for the SU Böhmerwald.

At the age of 15 she contested her first FIS races in Sölden . In February 2013 she took part in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Poiana Brașov and took sixth place in slalom . In January 2014 she made her European Cup debut in Switzerland . Her first season, in which she reached several places in the points, ended with an injury. Just three weeks after her first start, she fell in the second giant slalom in Sestriere and suffered an open fracture of the tibia and fibula . She made her comeback at the Austrian Youth Championships in Sankt Lambrecht , where she qualified for the Junior World Championships in Hafjell with good performances . Her best results were two fifth places in her favorite disciplines Downhill and Super-G in Sochi 2016 . At the 2015 Austrian Championships in Hinterstoder , she won the silver medal in the downhill behind Mirjam Puchner .

On December 4, 2015, she made her World Cup debut on the Lake Louise Downhill. In her third World Cup race, the combination of Val-d'Isère , she won points for the first time with rank 26. She spent the following years in the European Cup and achieved her first two podium finishes in the 2017/18 season . In the following season her breakthrough came with several victories. She managed the first of these in December 2018 when she descended home in Zauchensee . More than three years after her first World Cup points, she finished 23rd in the combination of Crans-Montana in February 2019. In the 2018/19 European Cup season , she decided the overall, downhill and Super-G rankings with a total of six wins themselves.

On January 12th, 2020, she was ranked tenth in the combination of Zauchensee for the first time among the top ten of a World Cup race. Two weeks later she achieved another top result with seventh place in Bansko's second descent . After further top 10 results in Garmisch , she tore a cruciate ligament in her left knee in a fall on the first descent from Crans-Montana .
