Elise Ransonnet-Villez or Elisa Nemes-Ransonnet (born October 8, 1843 in Vienna , † October 25, 1899 in Brixen ) was an Austrian painter.

Life

Ransonnet-Villez came from a noble French family. She studied painting with Franz von Lenbach and Heinrich von Angeli and graphics with William Unger . Since 1876 she exhibited her works at art exhibitions in Vienna and Munich, but also internationally. On June 19, 1864 she married the Hungarian Count Ferdinand (Nándor) Nemes von Hidvég (* November 1835, imperial cavalry captain in the army), so that she came to Hungary. There she met many representatives of the Austro-Hungarian celebrities. In 1879 she painted the portrait of Franz Liszt . She also portrayed u. a. the Hungarian politicians Ferenc Deák and Albin Csáky . In addition to portraits, she also painted still lifes . Ransonnet-Villez visited Egypt and the Netherlands . She donated a grant for young artists.

As Elise Nemes, she was a full member of the Association of Writers and Artists Vienna from 1885 .
