Elke Herrmann (politician)

Elke Herrmann (née Fischer ; born November 13, 1956 in Crimmitschau ; † December 21, 2017 ) was a German politician . From 2004 to 2014 she was a non-party member of Alliance 90 / The Greens in the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Herrmann passed his Abitur in 1975 and then began studying at the TH Ilmenau . From 1986 she was a housewife and mother. She lived in Crimmitschau, was married and had four children. She belonged to the Roman Catholic denomination. Shaped by the peace and environmental movement in the GDR , the biomedical graduate had been a district councilor for Alliance 90 / The Greens in the Zwickauer Land district and co-initiator of the Voluntary Political Year in Zwickau. Since 1987 she has been a member of the Christian Peace Seminar in Königswalde .

Herrmann was elected to the state parliament in 2004 on the fifth place on the state list. She was social and migration policy spokeswoman for the group and during the fourth parliamentary term (2004-2009) Member of the Committee on Social Affairs, Health, Family, Women and Youth and the Committee on Petitions . In the state elections in 2009 , she took third place on the state list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and was able to move into the state parliament again. In the 5th electoral term (2009-2014) she was a member of the Committee on Social Affairs and Consumer Protection and again a member of the Petitions Committee. In the state election 2014 candidate Herrmann no more.

Elke Herrmann died at the age of 61.
