Elliot Barnes-Worrell (born March 1991 ) is an English theater and film actor, poet and director.

life and career

Elliot Barnes-Worrell grew up in Peckham in the London Borough of Southwark . His father is the West Indian writer, director and composer Trix Worrell

When he was still a rapper artistically , he attended a Hamlet performance at the Ovalhouse (Off West End), in which an actor with black skin played Hamlet. He then became a regular theatergoer. He began training as an actor at the BRIT School and then moved to the Central School of Speech and Drama , where he graduated after winning the Sir John Gielgud Award. In 2012 he was awarded the Alan Bates Award of the Actors Center excellent.

After minor roles in television productions (Dog Endz, 2009) and ( Doctor Who , 2012), he got an engagement with the Royal Shakespeare Company . In the new production of Henry IV. Part 1 and Part 2 within a production of the so-called Lancaster tetralogy by Gregory Doran , he played the roles of Prince John and Francis, respectively. The premiere was in Stratford-upon-Avon . After guest appearances at several English theaters, the tour ended at the Barbican Center in London . In 2015 he played alongside Ralph Fiennes in Shaw's play "Man and Superman" at the Lyttleton Theater in London . In April 2017 he played the role of Horatio in Andrew Scott's debut at the Almeida Theater as Hamlet . Also in 2017 at the Almeida he appeared in a role in the world premiere of Christopher Shinn's play Against .

His first directorial work with a professional film team was the short film The Works . He developed the textbook for the film on the basis of Shakespeare's plays; all dialogues are composed of literal Shakespeare quotations.

Elliot Barnes-Worrell recites his poetry all over London. His poetry is about social stereotypes , class differences , sexuality and religion.
