Südthüringer Zeitung (Schmalkalden editorial team), November 13, 2009, accessed on December 17, 2012 : "Stop the madness" has been written by conservationists and friends of the country in pink letters on the white cloth that hugs the beech. But it's not just about this tree, but also other woods that are supposed to fall. In the past few days, angry people at the mayor's office have vented their displeasure and the phones at the nature conservation authority in the district office rattled. "It's not just any tree, but a striking piece that is also associated with memories," said an insider. "It is as if the root stem to the past has been cut." "
