The G 11 , previously G 8, were freight locomotives of the Reichseisenbahnen in Alsace-Lorraine . They were initially called C33.

The vehicles were intended for the coal and ore trains in the mining and smelting areas in Lorraine and Luxembourg . With these vehicles one skipped the quadruple coupled machines.

The vehicles fully did justice to the tasks assigned to them. During a test drive, a train on a gradient of 12.6 ‰ reached a speed of 40 km / h with a train weighing 356 tons. At 605 tons, 20 km / h were still achieved.

The locomotives were given type 3 T 12.5 tenders .
