Elvar Ólafsson (born June 1, 1997 ) is an Icelandic ice hockey player who has been playing at Nittorps IK in fifth-rate Swedish Division 3 since 2018 .

Career

Elvar Ólafsson began his career with Ísknattleiksfélagið Björninn , for whose second team, Hunar, he made his debut in the Icelandic ice hockey league at the age of 15 . From 2014 to 2017 he then played in the club's first team. After a year in Canada, where he played for the Kingsville Kings in the Greater Metro Hockey League and once also for the North Shore Kings in the Federal Hockey League , he returned to Scandinavia and now plays in the fifth-rate Swedish Division 3 at Nittorps IK .

International

In the junior division, Elvar Ólafsson participated with Iceland in the U18 World Championships in 2013 and 2014 in Division II and in 2015 , when he was voted the best player of his team as the best striker of the tournament and made a significant contribution to the immediate promotion to Division II in the Division III and the U20 World Championships 2015 in Division II and 2015 and 2016 in Division III.

Elvar Ólafsson played for the Icelandic men's national team for the first time at the 2017 World Cup in Division II. In 2018 , he also played in Division II.
