Elvira Herzog (born March 5, 2000 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

Herzog started her career in autumn 2009 at FC Unterstrass and moved to FC Zurich Letzikids in 2011 at the age of 11 , before moving up to the professional team in 2016. The goalkeeper made her debut for Zurich on December 2, 2017 against Yverdon Féminin and played to zero. On July 9, 2019, Herzog moved to Germany for 1. FC Cologne . After the relegation of 1. FC Köln from the Bundesliga , she moved to SC Freiburg for the 2020/21 season .

International

After eleven games for the U-17s and 16 games for the U-19s in Switzerland, she was appointed to the senior national team for the first time on June 4, 2019. On June 14, 2019, she made her debut against the Serbian national soccer team .
