Georg Schlenvoigt

Georg Schlenvoigt (born February 14, 1950 ) is a German politician (SPD), civil engineer and government master builder , as well as former mayor of the large district town of Crailsheim .

Life and work

Schlenvoigt studied civil engineering at the University of Karlsruhe from 1969 to 1975 . Until 1978 he worked there as an assistant at the chair for hydromechanics . By 1980 he did a legal traineeship with a degree as a government master builder at the water management office and regional council of Freiburg .

Until 1985 Schlenvoigt was head of the waste disposal , water supply and river engineering / flood protection departments at the Schorndorf Water Management Office and then moved to the Stuttgart regional council until 1991 . During the same period, he was also head of the “Dams” working group at the Ministry for the Environment in Baden-Württemberg and chairman of the “Flood Retention Basin” working group at the German Association for Water Management and Cultivation in Bonn .

From 1991 to 1999 he was Lord Mayor of the large district town of Crailsheim . In this role he was also a member and deputy chairman of the environmental committee at the Baden-Württemberg Association of Cities , member of the Statistical Committee of the German Association of Cities , member of the “Communities of the Future” working group of the communal joint agency for administrative simplification of the Bertelsmann Foundation and the Hans Böckler Foundation , as well as speaker in the “ Crailsheimer Kreis ” in the comparison competition of member cities. In the 1999 election he could no longer achieve a majority.

From 1999 to 2014 he maintained an office in Crailsheim as an independent consultant for business and administration. Since then he has been working as an integrated specialist for the state water supplier of the Republic of Benin , SONEB in Cotonou, and since 2016 in quality management .

Schlenvoigt is married and has three children. He lives in Crailsheim. As a party member, he has been chairman of the district parliamentary group of the SPD in the Schwäbisch Hall district council since 2014 . He is also a member of the supervisory board of the Schwäbisch Hall Klinikum gGmbH .
