Emanuele Arciuli

Emanuele Arciuli (born June 26, 1965 in Galatone ) is an Italian pianist .

Life

Emanuele Arciuli made his debut as a pianist at the age of 18 and graduated from the Bari Conservatory at 19 , where he is currently a lecturer. He continued his training with Leon Fleisher , Paolo Bordoni and Vincenzo Vitale. In his concert activity he has appeared as a soloist in leading Italian houses such as the Teatro San Carlo in Naples , the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa , the Teatro La Fenice in Venice , and he has also played with international orchestras such as the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and the Orquestra Sinfonica Brasileira and at international festivals such as the Biennale di Venezia , the Miami Piano Festival and the Berlin Festival .

repertoire

Arciuli's repertoire ranges from Johann Sebastian Bach to the Viennese Classic and the Second Viennese School to contemporary music, which he is particularly interested in and which he interprets in close collaboration with various Italian and above all American composers, including John Adams and George Crumb . In 2001 his project of the Round Midnight Variations , a homage to Thelonious Monk , is remarkable , for which 20 American composers wrote their own variation on the famous theme. As part of his commitment to Native American Music , he played the Indiana Concerto by Louis Ballard with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra under Mario Venzago , the only piano concerto composed by a North American Indian.

Recordings

Arciuli's recordings include works by Beethoven , Liszt , Kogoj, the complete works of Alban Berg and Anton Webern and finally contemporary American composers such as John Adams , George Crumb and Frederic Rzewski .
