history
On July 1, 1972, Embsen was incorporated into the city of Achim.
The grave of the Düring brothers is located at today's Edelhof. District Administrator Adolph Gerlach von Düring (1748–1800) and his brother Franz Julius von Düring (1749–1806) had died of tuberculosis. The von Düring family owned the Embsen estate for over 100 years, and Adolph Gerlach himself was the owner of the estate from 1782 until his death.
