Bierden is a village in the Lower Saxon town of Achim in the Verden district . Bierden is located directly on the Weser and on the L 158 , which leads from Mahndorf to Achim. The A 27 runs north 1.5 kilometers away. The 56 hectare nature reserve Sandtrockenrasen Achim lies between the Achim districts of Bierden and Uphusen .

history

During archaeological excavations before the laying of the Northern European natural gas pipeline through Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Lower Saxony in 2011 to 2012, Stone Age groups of hunters and collectors, the so-called " Venus von Bierden ", were found between Bierden and Uphusen . It is an engraved anthropomorphic representation of a woman's body on an early Mesolithic sandstone about 5 × 7 cm in size .

On July 1, 1972, Bierden was incorporated into the city of Achim.
