Emeritio

Emeritio is an association of emeritus professors who are older than 60 years and want to impart their knowledge to broad circles of society, founded in 2013 .

Emeritio is a project launched in 2013 by the academic advisory board of Textonia GmbH. It is partially funded by the Ministry for State Development and Transport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt . Textonia GmbH is a social enterprise . It was founded in 2011 to leverage the expertise of retired academics. The managing director and coordinator authorized to represent the company is Tino Grosche. University professors over the age of 60 who are or are about to retire can take part in the project. Membership is free.

activities

  • Assistance for newcomers to Germany with academic qualifications, entry into working life, placement of jobs in business and administration in cooperation with the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences .
  • Assistance for older citizens in rural areas in making use of modern offers such as B. Colon cancer screening .
  • Lecture series Understanding Research together with the Museum für Naturkunde Magdeburg for the easy-to-understand communication of scientific research to broad sections of the population.
  • Moderation of guided walks in the monastery of Our Dear Women in Magdeburg, where fundamental questions of life and existence are discussed.
  • Discussion series in which thought leaders from science, politics and society reflect on the great questions facing humanity.
  • Event series "We can make a difference" combined with the question "How do we want to live - today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow?"
  • Monthly meetings at which the scientists discuss current political and social processes.
  • Berlin round , meeting with federal politicians .
