Emich Christian (Leiningen-Dagsburg)

Emich Christian von Leiningen-Dagsburg (born March 29, 1642 on the Dagsburg ; † April 27, 1702 ) was Count von Leiningen and Dagsburg by descent and lord of Broich , Oberstein and Bürgel by heir .

Life

Emich Christian was a son of Count Emich XIII. von Leiningen-Dagsburg (1612–1658) and Countess Dorothea von Waldeck-Wildungen (1617–1661).

After the death of his father-in-law Wilhelm Wirich von Daun-Falkenstein in 1682, Emich Christian took possession of his estate. On October 8th he was enfeoffed with the rule of Broich by Elector Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz .

In March 1688, Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz ruled in favor of Emich Christian's nephew Johann Karl August von Leiningen-Dagsburg because of inheritance disputes .

Marriage and offspring

Emich Christian married on July 17, 1664 in Falkenstein Christiane Luise (1640–1717), a daughter of Count Wilhelm Wirich von Daun-Falkenstein and Countess Elisabeth von Waldeck (1610–1647). They had the following offspring:
