Wilhelm Wirich von Daun-Falkenstein (born June 1, 1613 , † August 26, 1682 ) was a German nobleman. He came from the “ Daun-Falkenstein ” line of the Daun family and was, by descent and inheritance, Herr von Broich and Haus Bürgel, and most recently also owner of the County of Falkenstein .

Life

Wilhelm Wirich was a son of Count Johann Adolf von Daun-Falkenstein (1582–1623) and his wife Countess Anna Maria (1589–1620), a daughter of Count Johann VII of Nassau-Siegen and Countess Magdalene von Waldeck .

On October 28, 1634, he married his cousin Elisabeth von Waldeck at Waldeck Castle . In 1636 Wilhelm Wirich received the County of Falkenstein from his 3rd degree uncle Franz Christoph von Daun-Oberstein by will .

His only living son, Carl Alexander, was shot dead by Count Moritz von Limburg-Styrum in an argument on October 7, 1659 . Wilhelm Wirich married Countess Agnes Katharina Limburg-Styrum again in 1663, but since this marriage remained childless, the male family of the counts died with his death .

In 1667 he sold the impoverished county of Falkenstein to Duke Charles IV of Lorraine .
