Emiel van Egdom

Emiel van Egdom (* 1956 in De Vranck, Heerlen ) is a Dutch guitarist , composer , arranger and music producer .

Life

Egdom studied guitar from 1976 to 1981 with Hans-Lutz Niessen , a student of Bruno Henze , at the Maastricht Conservatory and took private lessons with Charles Green and John Thomas . He studied at the University of Maryland, College Park and in 1983 with a scholarship at the Berklee College of Music in Boston as well as privately a. a. with John Scofield ; then he moved to Los Angeles . He initially went on tour with Corey Allen and Peter Gordon . On his second album This Is for You he played a. a. with Bob Berg , Alex Acuña , John Patitucci , Eric Gale and Bobby Militello . The next album Hybrid Groove also received good reviews. He toured North and South America and Europe with musicians like Eric Vloeimans and Glenn Corneille . He has been the owner of CULEA Productions since 1985.

Awards

In 1983 he received the Jim Hall Jazz Masters Incentive Award .
