Emil fragrance

Emil Duft (born October 25, 1895 in Flawil , † December 9, 1978 in Zurich ; entitled to live in Zurich and Kaltbrunn ) was a Swiss politician ( CSP ).

Life

He completed a bank apprenticeship . After completing his commercial diploma at the University of St. Gallen , he studied and obtained the title of Dr. oec. publ. at the University of Zurich . In 1929 he co-founded the bank for industrial companies , which later became the commercial bank in Zurich and, under his leadership, the largest private bank in Zurich.

From 1943 to 1964 Duft was President of the Christian Social Party of the Canton of Zurich and sat on the National Council from 1947 to 1967 , which he chaired in 1961 . In addition to the presidium of the first parliamentary delegation in the Council of Europe (1960–1967), he sat on various commissions, including the finance and foreign affairs commission . During his time as president of the Zurich CSP party, the number of CSP mandates in the cantonal council doubled, the number of national councilors rose from two to five, and the party took a seat on the education and government councils for the first time .

Fragrance was a member of the Roman Catholic Central Commission of the Canton of Zurich from 1963 to 1967 and presided over the Paulus Academy Zurich from 1967 to 1975 .

Fragrance was the brother of Johannes fragrance .
