Emil Hans Heinrich August Lemcke (born January 4, 1870 in Groß Dratow , † January 10, 1946 in Schwerin ) was a German lawyer and President of the Church Council in Schwerin.

Life

Emil Lemcke was born as the son of the manor owner Carl Enoch Friedrich Lemcke and his wife Helene, geb. Fisherman. Lemcke studied law at the universities of Heidelberg, Berlin and Rostock after he had passed the Abitur at Easter 1889 at the large city school Rostock. At the beginning of his studies, Lemcke joined the Leonensia student union in Heidelberg in 1889 .

Lemcke's professional life began after graduation; initially in 1893 as a trainee lawyer and in 1898 as an official assessor in Neustadt i. Meckl. To the Dr. jur. He received his doctorate in January 1899. From 1901 he was administrative administrator in Dargun , in 1908 he became second magistrate in Wismar , in 1912 first governor in Wittenburg . In April 1921 he was appointed Landdrost in Wittenburg .

In April 1922 Lemcke was appointed as a legal member of the Schwerin Oberkirchenrat. In July 1925 he became President of the Upper Church Council of the Evangelical Church in Mecklenburg as the successor to the late Gottfried Bierstedt . He exercised this function until the National Socialist German Christians came to power , who almost completely replaced the Oberkirchenrat, gave him a forced leave of absence on February 1, 1934 and appointed Hermann Schmidt zur Nedden as his successor. Since 1900 he was a member of the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology . In 1932 Lemcke was promoted to Dr. H. c. from the University of Rostock .

Emil Lemcke was married to Margarete Charlotte Caroline Schlottmann (* May 21, 1879), the daughter of the Rostock Geh, since May 1899. Medical Council Dr. Carl Schlottmann. Lemcke died in Schwerin a few days after his 76th birthday.
