Emil Seydel

Emil Seydel (* 1870 or 1871 ; † May 6, 1898 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German architect .

life and work

In the architectural competition for the Steglitz Town Hall in 1896, Seydel's design was awarded a purchase. In the same year he received one of two 2nd prizes in the competition for the New Linden Town Hall in Linden near Hanover ; a 1st prize was not awarded. Seydel's design was selected for the execution, in which he fell back on the models of medieval brick Gothic. Seydel managed the work until his death in 1898, the rest of the work was carried out under the direction of Linden city architect Georg Fröhlich .

Seydel also built several new buildings in Halle an der Saale, where he died of a stroke at the age of 27 .
