Andreas "Andi" Haberl (* 1982 in Holzhausen on Lake Starnberg ) is a German drummer of modern jazz .

Live and act

Haberl had his first band when he was eleven. He made his first experiences with jazz in the school big band of the grammar school in Geretsried . In 1997 he founded the group max.bab with Max von Mosch , with which he won the 2001 Studio Prize at Jugend jazzt . From 2001 to 2003 he was a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Peter Herbolzheimer . In 2003 he moved to Berlin to study with John Hollenbeck at the Berlin Jazz Institute ; in addition, he took lessons from John Riley and Joey Baron .

Since 2007 he has been a permanent member of The Notwist , on whose album Close to the Glass he also sings. He is also a member of the Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra , Johannes Lauer's The Gathering , Masha Qrella and Jersey. He also worked with Till Brönner , Kurt Rosenwinkel , Johannes Enders , Myron Walden , Bobby Hutcherson and Charlie Mariano . He can also be heard on albums by Julian and Roman Wasserfuhr , Lisa Bassenge , Marsmobil , Max Frankl , Lauer Large and Konstantin Wecker .
