Emil Uellenberg

Emil Uellenberg (born March 28, 1874 in Elberfeld (now part of Wuppertal ), † 1944 in Wuppertal) was a German pharmacist and writer .

Life

Emil Uellenberg grew up in Vohwinkel from 1879 . He studied pharmacy and received his doctorate in 1900 from the University of Basel . He then went on extensive trips. From 1902 to 1905 he lived in Cologne , after which he ran a pharmacy in Vohwinkel. In 1914 he sold his business and lived as a freelance writer in various places. In 1920 he finally settled in Vohwinkel.

Emil Uellenberg was the author of novels , stories and poems . While his narrative works often deal with topics from the early history of Protestantism , Uellenberg's poems are part of the local poetry . At the beginning of the Nazi regime , Uellenberg published several books about historical leading figures of the new regime such as Theodor Körner and Ernst Moritz Arndt , but also about the National Socialist "martyrs" Leo Schlageter and Horst Wessel .
