Emilia Nova (born August 20, 1995 in Jakarta ) is an Indonesian hurdler who specializes in the 100 meter distance and also competes in the heptathlon.

Athletic career

Emilia Nova gained her first international experience at the Asian Championships in Pune , where she was eliminated in the first round with 14.67 seconds. She then finished fifth in 14.41 s at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Palembang . In 2014 she took part in the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei , where she finished fourth in 14.27 s. She also competed with the Indonesian 4 x 100 meter relay and finished sixth in 46.80 s. The following year she was also fourth at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore with a time of 13.78 s. Two years later she started the heptathlon at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur , where she set a new national record with 5386 points, winning the silver medal behind the Thai Sunisa Khotseemueang . In 2018 she took part in the Asian Games in her native Jakarta for the first time , where she won the silver medal behind South Korean Jung Hye-lim with a new personal best of 13.33 seconds .

In 2019 she was eliminated from the Asian Championships in Doha with 13.70 seconds, as well as from the subsequent Summer Universiade in Naples with 14.19 seconds. In December she then won the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in 13.61 s.

In 2017 Nova became Indonesian champion in the 100-meter hurdles and with the 4-by-100-meter relay. She graduated from Jakarta State University with a degree in Sports and Recreational Science .
