Emily Hughes (born January 26, 1989 in Great Neck , Long Island , NY ) is an American figure skater .
Career
Emily Hughes is the younger sister of the 2002 Olympic champion Sarah Hughes (* 1985). She has four other siblings.
She started figure skating at the age of three. After a few difficulties in the junior area (11th in the years 2002 and 2003 in the national championships ), she took a break, whereupon she did not qualify for the US championships in 2004 .
Their rise began in 2005. She won bronze at the World Championships of the juniors . The following year she was subsequently given a starting place at the Winter Olympics in Turin after the injured Michelle Kwan had withdrawn, and was seventh.
Emily skates for The SC of New York, Inc., and is coached by Bonni Retzkin .
