Emy Coligado

Emy Coligado (born June 5, 1971 in Geneva , Ohio ) is a Filipino - American actress , who became known for the role of Piama Tananahaakna in the sitcom Malcolm in the middle .

Life

Coligado grew up in Borger ( Texas on). She later studied psychology at Texas Christian University . After graduating in 1993, she moved to New York City to devote herself to acting and music. Coligado got a role in a regional production of the musical Miss Saigon in Galveston, Texas. The actress also played a role in the German version of the musical performed in Stuttgart in the mid-1990s.

In 2000, Coligado moved to Los Angeles . Several supporting roles in television series followed. For the series Crossing Jordan she played the role of Emmy from 2001. In 2002 Coligado got the role of Piama Tananahaakna, wife of Malcolm's brother Francis, in the FOX series Malcolm in the Middle .
