The Sennebach ( called Rahmke in the upper reaches ) is a right-hand tributary of the Ems in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany . It has a length of 25.6 km.

River course

The Sennebach, which, like the neighboring streams, drains a glacial marl ridge , rises in the Senne as Rahmke just under the area of the municipality of Augustdorf . However, after a few meters, the Rahmke enters the urban area of Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock and there for a short time the nature reserve Schluchten und Moore on the upper Furlbach .

Upper course as Rahmke at Stukenbrock-Senne

Following the flattening of the Teutoburg Forest , the Rahmke flows off in a south-westerly direction, first crosses the area of a golf course and leads north past the Safariland Stukenbrock . After about five kilometers of flow and the left-hand recording of a nameless tributary, the body of water changes its name to Sennebach and then passes under the federal highway 33 . After the brook briefly crossed the Hövelhofer area not far from its northern point, it flows south through the park landscape typical of the Ems sand plain at Liemke and then past the Verler districts of Kaunitz and Österwiehe .

To the north of the Steinhorster Basin, the Sennebach finally crosses the city limits of Rietberg , turns to Neuenkirchen and passes the village in the south. There the water briefly forms the northern end of the Rietberg garden show park.

After crossing an industrial area , the Sennebach flows around the Rietberg core city area and flows into the Ems to the west at the Rottwiese.
