Endo is an American metal band from Miami , Florida that was formed in 1995, disbanded in 2007 and has been back in business since 2012.

history

The band was formed in 1995 and consisted of Lou Orenstein, Diego Ponsa, Reggie Barret, Steve Morris and Gil Bitton, although it is not known exactly which member held which position. In the period that followed, the line-up of the band changed significantly, after which in 1998 it consisted of singer Gil Bitton and bassist Zelick, drummer Joel Suarez and guitarist Eli Parker. After the band signed a contract with Concrete Management in 1999, supporting appearances for the Foo Fighters and Static-X followed , whereupon the band reached a contract with DV8 , a label managed by Columbia Records . In the following time appearances followed, among others as the opening act for Chevelle , Korn and Marilyn Manson . DV8 released their debut album Evolve in March 2001 . The song Malice from the album was featured on the soundtrack to the film Dracula 2000 . On the second album called Songs for the Restless from 2003 Joe Eshkenazi was represented as the new drummer. The song Simple Lies contained on the album was also included on the soundtrack for the film Daredevil . In the same year the band also played at the Ozzfest . The following year the band separated from V8 again. In 2005 the band announced that they had finished work on their third album. However, the album would never be released as the band split up in 2007.

In 2012 the band came together again, with Grover L. Norton III as the new drummer and Derek Gormley as the new bassist. In 2013, the album Wake the Fuck Up was self-published . In the summer of the same year, the band held a tour of the United States.

style

According to Allmusic's William Ruhlmann, the band plays on Evolve Rap Metal , in the style of Korn and Rage Against the Machine . The rhythms would mostly consist of simple power chords , while the singing mostly sounded angry and only occasionally hopeful. According to Allmusic's Johnny Loftus , the band has moved away from Rap Metal on Songs for the Restless and would now play more Metal in the sense of Deftones and Staind . The singing is now melodic clear singing.
