Enis Imeri (born July 14, 1983 in Kosovska Mitrovica , SFR Yugoslavia , today Kosovo ) is a karateka , multiple national champion in Baden-Württemberg , six times German WKA champion and two-time WKA world champion.

Life

Imeri was born on July 14, 1983 in Mitrovica , Kosovo , the youngest of four children . His father worked as a bailiff in Kosovo, his mother was a housewife. In January 1991, his family fled the Kosovo war and entered Germany. Four years later, in May 1995, he discovered his passion for karate and practiced in the Ravensburg Sports Center under the direction of Günter Mohr , who was the coach of the German national team for 21 years. He was able to fight for his first big victory in 1999 in Hanau , Hesse, and thus became German Karate Youth Champion. At the same time he also trained as a trainer (Trainer C) at the German Sports Confederation .

On September 10, 2000, the family was deported back to Kosovo. He fled with his father and two brothers and went into hiding for three months. In December 2000, however, they were able to travel back to Germany. In the same month Imeri took the 1st Dan (black belt) exam with his trainer Günther Mohr. But the family was again deported to Kosovo, but was able to return to Germany in January 2001 and Imeri was appointed to the German national team of the German Karate Association . He started working as a karate trainer at the Karate and Judo Club Ravensburg, where he stayed for four years. During this time Imeri also passed his 2nd Dan exam.

In April 2009 Imeri opened his own karate school in Wilhelmsdorf , BW . At the same time he also switched his martial arts association to the karate college . In July 2009 he passed the 3rd Dan exam under the supervision of Toni Dietl . He won gold at the WKA World Championships in 2009 in Huelva , Spain and in 2010 in Edinburgh , Scotland . In the meantime he expanded his karate school, trained trainees and founded other schools in the vicinity. Among other things, Imeri is also a sports ambassador for the White Ring , an association that supports crime victims.
