Ulrich-Steinberger-Platz ensemble
The ensemble Ulrich-Steinberger-Platz in vohburg , a town in the Upper Bavarian district Pfaffenhofen , is an architectural ensemble , under monument stands. Vohburg is located on a peninsula that culminates in an isolated mountain with an extensive plateau, between the small Danube in the south and the Danube in the north.

The ensemble includes Ulrich-Steinberger-Platz with its surrounding buildings and the houses on Donaustraße that form the western end of the square. The largely preserved plaza comes mainly from the 18th and 19th centuries on the basis of medieval floor plans. Ulrich-Steinberger-Platz forms the center of the city.
The ground plan of the square is an irregular triangle, over which the Donaustraße, the trade route from Ingolstadt to Regensburg , ran. The different building widths, storeys and gable heights of the partly eaves and partly gable houses convey the impression of diversity. This is reinforced by the irregular plaza, which results in a staggered relocation of the houses.
The square is dominated to the north by the free-standing former parish church of St. Andreas with its tower crowned with a pointed helmet, today used as the town hall, and the baroque Catholic branch church of St. Antonius , built from 1726 to 1728 , which protrudes from the western wall of the square. The Marian Column and a war memorial are also located on the square .
Ulrich-Steinberger-Platz is named after Ulrich Steinberger (1825–1904), who was pastor in Vohburg from 1868. He is still considered to be the greatest benefactor of Vohburg and in 1890 he became the city's first honorary citizen .
