Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien (also ESSG for short ) is a French football club from Sannois and Saint-Gratien , two municipalities in the Val-d'Oise department , in the north-western outskirts of Paris .

history

It was founded in 1989 through the merger of Omnia Sports Sannois Saint-Gratien and AS Saint-Gratien ; "Entente" means unity in German. The club colors are royal blue and white; the league team plays in the Stade Michel-Hidalgo , which has a capacity of 8,000 seats. The 2005/06 season had finished the ESSG as fourth in the third division and applied to be allowed to move up to Ligue 2 when a club there no longer received a license. This refused the League Association and the Fédération Française de Football of the Entente, whereupon they went through all sports and civil courts; At the end of this, the Cour d'appel in Versailles finally decided that the association was entitled to claims for damages in any case. The FFF paid these 500,000 euros; however, she still saw no entitlement for the ESSG to be admitted to the second division at least retrospectively in the judgment.

League affiliation

The club worked under professional conditions from 2003 to 2008. First class ( Division 1 , renamed Ligue 1 since 2002 ), he has not yet played. He was promoted to the third division for the 2017/18 season .
