Traylor Elizabeth Howard (born June 14, 1966 in Orlando , Florida ) is an American actress .

Life

Howard attended Lake Highland Preparatory High School in Orlando and graduated from Florida State University with a degree in communications and advertising . Before making her debut in 1994 with the film Till Death Do Us Part , Howard starred in several commercials; she shot her first in high school for the chewing gum manufacturer Wrigley .

In 1996, she had her first major role as Joy in the series Boston College and between 1998 and 2001 she had a leading role in A Trio to Bite Yourself with Ryan Reynolds . In 1998 she starred in the film Dirty Work by Bob Saget with Chevy Chase , Adam Sandler and John Goodman in front of the camera. In 1999 she starred in the music video for the song Breakout by the Foo Fighters . In 2000 she played Layla on the side of Jim Carrey and Renée Zellweger in the comedy Me, Both & Them . In the film Mask 2 she was seen in front of the camera with Kal Penn , Alan Cumming and Jamie Kennedy .

From 2005 to the end of the series in 2009, Howard played in the detective series Monk the role of Natalie Teeger, the assistant to the protagonist Adrian Monk. In 2009 she received the Gracie Allen Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series , an award from the Alliance for Women in Media .

Howard's first son was born on November 24, 2006. Their second son was born in 2012.
