James Harvey "Jamie" Kennedy (born May 25, 1970 in Upper Darby , Pennsylvania ) is an American actor .

Life

Kennedy played his first small film role in The Dead Poets Club alongside Robin Williams . This was followed by guest appearances in the series On worse and forever and Ellen . He became known worldwide for the role of Randy in the first three films of the Scream tetralogy, which brought him a Blockbuster Entertainment Award in 1997. So far, he has appeared in around 100 film and television productions.

Kennedy published a book entitled Wannabe: A Hollywood Experiment , in which he describes his first unsuccessful years in Hollywood .

Kennedy dated Jennifer Love Hewitt , his fellow actor in Ghost Whisperer , from 2009 to March 2010 .
