The Eparchy of Pathanamthitta ( lat. : Eparchia Pathanamthittensis ) is in India located eparchy of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church based in Pathanamthitta , Kerala .

history

The Eparchy Pathanamthitta was founded on January 25, 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI. built from the cession of territory by the Grand Archdiocese of Trivandrum and subordinated to this as a suffragan diocese. The first bishop was Yoohanon Chrysostom Kalloor . He was followed by Samuel Irenios Kattukallil in June 2019 .

The Eparchy Pathanamthitta only covers the Syro-Malankar Catholics of the area. The Catholics of the Latin rite and the Syro-Malabar rite who also live there belong to other dioceses.
