Erhard Fappani

Erhard Fappani (born October 9, 1936 in Schwanden ; † February 22, 1999 in Maur ) was a Swiss painter . His place of origin was Glarus . He was a member of the Swiss Mountain Painters Guild . Fappani worked as a mechanical engineer until 1970 .

Life

He used various techniques such as pastel painting , oil painting , acrylic painting , watercolor painting , and lithography . He also created sculptures and reliefs , worked as a photographer and designed posters . His works often depicted mountain landscapes. Fappani owned a summer studio in Calfeisental , in which the mountain painter Heinz Leuzinger from Glarus also worked.

In 2004, several works from the legacy of Erhard and Rosemarie Fappani were bought by the local community of Vättis and the associated political community of Pfäfers . A Fappani commission organizes occasional exhibitions.

In addition to his artistic activity, Fappani was also a mountaineer . After a mountain accident in 1960, he was paralyzed and dependent on a wheelchair.
