Erhard III. von Le Puiset (French: Evrard or Érard ; † August 21 , probably 1099 ) was a lord of Le Puiset and vice-count of Chartres . He was the eldest of three sons of Mr. Hugo I. Blavons and Alix of Montlhéry .

When his father died on December 23, 1094, Erhard inherited his rule. He was married to Alice von Corbeil, through whom his family acquired a claim to the county of Corbeil , which for their son Hugo III. mattered.

In 1096 Erhard joined the army of his liege lord, Count Stephan von Blois , on the first crusade . In Asia Minor he joined the retinue of the Bohemond of Taranto and distinguished himself in 1098 as a troop leader before Antioch in the fight against Kerboga . He then joined Tankred and led his knight in 1099 at the siege of Jerusalem . When they intended to flee during the assault on the city, Erhard was able to persuade them to turn back and thus save the day for Tankred, which was particularly appreciated by the crusade writer Radulf von Caen .

After that, Erhard is no longer reported. The chartres cathedral necrology lists the date of his death on August 21, but does not mention the year. Possibly he died in 1099, from wounds from the Battle of Ascalon , which took place on August 12, 1099.

During his absence, his brother Hugo II managed Le Puiset. After the brother moved into the distance himself in 1106, Hugo III. take over his legacy.
