Erhard O. Müller

Erhard Otto Müller (born March 20, 1955 in Bünde , Westphalia ; † May 13, 2008 in Riga ) was a German social scientist, journalist and publicist.

Müller grew up on the Wittekindshof in Bad Oeynhausen and completed a social science degree in Bielefeld after graduating from high school . Since 1990 he lived in Berlin. Early on, he became an opponent of authoritarian and fascist tendencies. He became a founding member of the Green Party . In 1990 EO Müller was instrumental in the negotiations between the West German Greens and the East German Alliance 90 for the purpose of a joint list for the federal election . From 1991 to 1992 he was a member of the founding council of the Bündnis 90 party.

Even in his youth, Müller developed a pronounced linguistic talent with which he later took on numerous journalistic activities.

1990–1998 he was editor of Bündnis 2000 , which in 1994 was renamed Forum Bürgerbewegung . From 1994–1998 he was a board member of the “House of Democracy” association in Berlin, which has since been renamed “ House of Democracy and Human Rights ”. From 1995 until his death, he was editor-in-chief of the magazine " Zukunfts" (published by Netzwerk-Zukunft , among others ).

Since 1997, Müller has designed, coordinated and moderated various round tables , networks, etc. on the topics of Agenda 21 , participatory budgeting and civil society . Since 2004, Müller has been editor-in-chief of the magazine for direct democracy ( ZfdD ) and was also a member of the board of directors of Mehr Demokratie , the magazine's publisher, from 2006-2008 .

In 2008 he started working for the foundation , with which he was already connected through previous projects.

Erhard O. Müller died on May 14, 2008 in Riga . The day before he had given a lecture there as part of a conference.
