Eric Todd Reid (* 10. December 1991 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana , United States ) is an American American football poker players on the position of Safety's . He was in the National Football League (NFL) with the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers under contract. He is currently a free agent . Reid played college football for Louisiana State University (LSU) and received an All-American award . In the 2013 NFL Draft , he was selected by the San Francisco 49ers as the 18th player in the first round.

NFL

The San Francisco 49ers traded their No. 31 pick and other picks with the Dallas Cowboys to secure their 18th draft pick and pick Reid. He was drafted with the aim of replacing the former starter Dashon Goldson , who had switched to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the off-season . In the pre-season, Reid won the job of free safety against teammate Craig Dahl . Reid scored his first interception during his first week NFL debut against the Green Bay Packers . In the next game, against the Seattle Seahawks , he scored another interception. In this game, however, he suffered a concussion . In one of his best games of the season, he scored an interception and a fumble against the Arizona Cardinals . A few weeks later, against the Carolina Panthers , Reid suffered a second concussion. Nevertheless, he did not miss any of the 19 games ( regular season plus play-offs ) in his rookie season and even played in all 19 games from the start. He finished his rookie season with a total of 77 tackles and four interceptions. At the end of the season, Reid was elected to the Pro Bowl . On September 27, 2018, the Carolina Panthers announced the signing of Reid to replace injured starter Da'Norris Searcy.

On March 18, 2020, Reid was released from the Panthers.
