Erich Boetel (born October 5, 1904 in Heide ; † May 22, 1940 in Hougaerde , Belgium ) was a German politician ( NSDAP ) and SA leader. From 1933 to 1940 he was a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Boetel attended secondary school in Heide from 1911 to 1921 and then completed an apprenticeship in banking by 1923. From 1922 to 1927 he was a member of the Stahlhelm . Boetel worked from 1924 to 1928 as a bank clerk at Deutsche Bank in Berlin and then until October 31, 1933 as a bank teller at a bank in Rendsburg in Westholstein. On May 1, 1928, he joined the NSDAP and the SA under membership number 88.850.

Boetel was taken on as a full-time SA leader on November 1, 1933 and promoted to SA standard leader on November 9. From January 1, 1934 to October 31, 1934 he was leader of SA Standard 212 ( Itzehoe ). He was appointed SA-Oberführer on April 20, 1935 and at the same time took over SA Brigade 1 "Memelwacht", whose leadership he held until November 30, 1936. On January 30, 1937 he was promoted to SA Brigadefuehrer and from February 1, 1937 he was entrusted with the management of the business as a department head in the personnel office of the highest SA leadership . On November 1, 1937, he became head of the Personnel Office in the Main Personnel Office of the Supreme SA leadership, which he remained until November 30, 1938. From December 1, 1938, he was head of the Social Welfare Office of the Supreme SA Leaders and was appointed SA Group Leader on January 30, 1939. Boetel belonged to the Wehrmacht as a lieutenant in the reserve of the 22nd Infantry Regiment in Gumbinnen. During the Second World War he served as a first lieutenant in the reserve and company commander and was wounded in Belgium in 1940. He died in the field hospital in Hougaerde in the Leuven arrondissement .
