Erich Fuchs (born June 27, 1925 in Mühlheim an der Eis ; † July 26, 2014 in Kaiserslautern ) was a German sprinter , athletics trainer and sports educator .

biography

After Fuchs won the silver medal at the German Championships in 1952 over 100 meters , a few weeks later he was also allowed to start in the 100 meter race at the Olympic Games in Helsinki . Fuchs was eliminated in the preliminary run and was 31st in the overall ranking.

Fuchs was a professor at the University of Education in Kaiserslautern. In addition, he was a founding member of the educational organization of the State Sports Association and the Olympic base in Rhineland-Palatinate / Saarland . For many years he chaired the state committee for competitive sports in the state sports association of Rhineland-Palatinate .

From 1960 to 1968, Fuchs was national coach of the German women's sprint relay.
