Erich Granass

Erich Granaß (born October 31, 1877 in Friedrichshof , Ortelsburg district , † June 6, 1958 in Berlin-Wilmersdorf ) was a German lawyer and member of parliament in Berlin.

Life

Granaß attended the old town high school in Königsberg i. Pr. After high school he enrolled at the Albertus University of Law. In 1897 he became active in the Corps Masovia . After the first exam, he spent his legal traineeship in Königsberg. After the assessor examination at the Königsberg Higher Regional Court , he settled in Berlin as a lawyer in 1910. In 1914 he also became a notary. As a lieutenant he went to the First World War with the 1st Warmian Infantry Regiment No. 150 ( Reserve Infantry Regiment No. 59 ). A wound in the Battle of Tannenberg (1914) made him unfit for military service. He received the Iron Cross 2nd class and was promoted to first lieutenant in 1914. Since 1915 in the Prussian War Ministry , he came in 1916 as a captain to the Deputy General Command of the XX. Army Corps in Olsztyn . He returned to Berlin as a judge-martial of the Guard Corps . Always interested in public life, he was a recognized personality in the social and political life of the capital during the interwar period . In the water sports association of old corps students , he was involved in the reconstitution of the Corps Frankonia Prague . In 1922 he received her ribbon. In the Berlin city council he was parliamentary group chairman of the German National People's Party and deputy city council head. He was also involved in the parish council . From 1930 to 1933 he was a member of the Prussian State Council . In 1933 he became a member of the Black-White-Red Combat Front .
