Erich Jaschke

Erich Jaschke (born May 11, 1890 in Danzig ; † October 14, 1961 in Hamburg ) was a German officer , most recently a general of the infantry in World War II .

Life

Jaschke fought as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the Reichswehr and served in various units.

In 1938 he was promoted to colonel in the Wehrmacht . He led the 20th Infantry Division as commander in World War II . Between March 10, 1943 and October 5, 1943, Jaschke was the commanding general of the LV. Army corps that was deployed on the Central Eastern Front as part of the 2nd Panzer Army in the Schisdra area.

Jaschke was in American captivity from May 1945 to 1947.
